Bachelorette Party Drinks: Raspberry Lemonade And Tequila

Raspberry Lemonade And Tequila

Thanks to Partida Tequila for providing complimentary product for this yummy raspberry lemonade and tequila drink! This post contains Amazon Associates links.

As I prepared the drink menu for Jaime’s bachelorette party, I needed a tequila cocktail recipe that would fit with my “Pink Cocktails” theme. I already had a bottle of Partida Tequila Blanco, and I wanted to find a recipe that could utilize the other ingredients I had already picked up for the other cocktails. Some Googling led me to this Raspberry-Meyer Lemonade and Tequila recipe on Leite’s Culinaria, republished from the Tequila: Myth, Magic & Spirited Recipes book by Karl Petzke. This blanco tequila cocktail calls for lemon juice, raspberries, and mint – all of which I had already gotten to use in my other pink cocktails! Perfect!

My tequila drink

This drink got a lot of compliments at the party and was requested from my cocktail menu several times when I was playing bartender. We had the groom’s bachelor party “Crash” our bachelorette event briefly, and the guys snuck some of the tequila while they were there as well. 😉 Partida has been a big hit every time I’ve served it – during the first bachelorette party I hosted last year, the bride-to-be told me that she didn’t really like tequila, but tasted it just to be a good sport. She ended up loving Partida and actually told me recently that she had been thinking about buying another bottle of Partida for cocktails. If it can convert someone who doesn’t like tequila, you know it must be good!

How-To: Clean Bachelorette Party Scavenger Hunt Ideas!

Clean Bachelorette Party Scavenger Hunt Ideas

Thanks to our party sponsors for providing complimentary items for games and prizing.

As I mentioned in my last post, I decided to create my own fun bachelorette party scavenger hunt for Jaime’s bachelorette party. I brainstormed some fun tasks that could work in most situations and created a scavenger hunt card using GIMP:

Bachelorette Scavenger Hunt - Free Printable

I printed off a stack of scavenger hunt cards prior to the party and packed them in a folder along with a stack of pencils.

Bachelorette Tee

For the prize, I decided to give away this super cute bachelorette tee from Just Jen. This company specializes in fun bridal & bachelorette party gear, and the neat part is that it’s all customizable. I was able to have this shirt emblazoned with the party location and date, making it a special keepsake of the evening.

Bachelorette Scavenger Hunt Prize Idea

I wrapped up the shirt in pink tissue and added it to my prizing table:

Prize Table

Once the party was underway, I handed out the scavenger hunt list to each guest along with a pencil. The fun thing about this game is that it can be worked on throughout the evening, which makes it low-pressure – if the guests feel like doing other activities, they don’t have to get too involved with the game. And for the guests that really enjoy party games, it’s a blast!

Playing bachelorette party games at home

This guest shows off the homemade veil she created to check off one of the items on the list!

Bachelorette scavenger hunt prize winner

Her motivation paid off as she took home the grand prize! The winner completed every item on the scavenger hunt checklist except one. I was seriously impressed! She earned her shirt!

Humorous wedding advice!

The scavenger hunt cards also made funny mementos thanks to the wedding advice that guests were encouraged to write on the back as one of the tasks. Some of the advice included practical ideas, like “Make a detailed schedule”, as well as a few jokes like “Bring a flask”!

Have you ever played a scavenger hunt game at a bachelorette party?

During my quest for printable bachelorette party games, I discovered that I couldn’t find any scavenger hunts that would fit with the theme of my party. So I just decided to make my own! If you’re looking for a free, clean bachelorette scavenger hunt, then you might enjoy this one that I created. I tried to make the items fun, non-embarrassing, and versatile enough to use at home or at another venue, such as a restaurant or bar.

Bachelorette Party Decoration Ideas

Fun Ideas For Bachelorette Decor!

Thanks to House of Bachelorette for providing the bachelorette party decoration ideas for this party!

As I planned Jaime’s bachelorette, I thought about what kind of theme to give the party and how I’d like to decorate. During this brainstorming, I had a chance to visit House of Bachelorette, a website that is exclusively dedicated to selling everything you could need for bachelorette parties. They carry everything from R-rated items to more mild-mannered party supplies, so I spent quite a while clicking through the entire selection and seeing what items caught my eye. When I found this 46pc Bachelorette Party Kit, I knew it would be a great for the party I had in mind. Not only did it meet my “No-male-anatomy” decorating criteria, but it was super cute and packed with all kinds of decorating supplies.

Party Kit From House of Bachelorette

This party kit includes a “Bachelorette Party” banner & napkins, black plates, confetti, and balloons, along with pink streamers. With my kit in hand, I planned the rest of the theme around this color scheme – I actually used the image of the “Bachelorette Party” napkins in the party invitation that I created! I also coordinated the other accents to fit with the pink and black colors, going as far as to plan pink cocktails. I thought it would be super cute and was anxious to see how it would look on party day.

Bachelorette Party Decoration Ideas

To get started, I bought a few disposable pink plastic tablecloths at Dollar Tree and hung them on the wall with tape. I then hung the streamers, balloons, and the bachelorette banner. This served as the backdrop for our photobooth – more on that later! – and made for a really cute accent in the room.

Bachelorette Banner

Bachelorette Party Setup

I set the dining table with another pink tablecloth and added the plates and napkins, with confetti strewn over the table as an accent.

Bachelorette Supplies

The black plates were paired with pink disposable cutlery, also from Dollar Tree!

Bachelorette Party Napkins

Bachelorette Confetti

The confetti and streamers made a nice accent to the food and wine on the tabletop.

Bachelorette Tree

This decoration in the living room was covered in streamers and a balloon. I dubbed it our “Bachelorette Christmas tree”. 😉

Bachelorette Balloon

I used the rest of the streamers the decorate the banister outside and welcome guests to the party!

This kit was really cute and added just the right amount of festive, fun touches to the party! I was quite satisfied with everything in the kit – the only disappointment were the balloons, which were quite flimsy – several of them broke and were unusable.

Bachelorette Prank

When I was cleaning up after the party the next morning, I had a little fun with the decorations before I threw them away. The groom’s bachelor party had taken place the same night, and one of the attendees had his motorbike parked outside; so, I gave it a little festive touch!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed my bachelorette party decoration ideas and gotten some inspiration for some cute, tasteful options for your next party! If you’d like to check out the decorating kit I used, you can find it on House of Bachelorette for $12.99.

Bachelorette Party Game Ideas: Raffle Tickets

Bachelorette Party Game Ideas: Raffle Tickets!

Thanks to our party sponsors for providing complimentary items to use in our raffle!

When I was planning party games for Jaime’s bachelorette celebration, I knew I wanted to have an activity that would be fun, not embarrassing, and low-pressure for the guests to complete. Having elaborate or time-consuming party games doesn’t always go over well, so I wanted games that would be simple and easy to opt out of if guests didn’t feel like getting involved. As I brainstormed, it seemed to me like holding a fun raffle would be the perfect solution!

Bachelorette Party Game Ideas: Raffle Tickets

Homemade raffle tickets

To make the tickets, I created a printable sheet on my computer using one of the bride-to-be’s engagement photos. Each ticket said “Jaime’s Bachelorette – Raffle Ticket” along with the date of the party. In the corner, there was a header for “Lucky Number”, which I left blank. I printed out a sheet of around 12 to a page, cut them with a paper trimmer and then filled in the ticket numbers by hand. You could make this as simple as just cutting out pieces of construction paper and writing down a number, or as elaborate as using scrapbook supplies – I made printables just because that was easiest for me. I made sure there were a few more tickets than guests, just in case extra RSVPs occurred at the last minute.

Bachelorette Party Game: DIY Raffle Tickets

I set up a table for party games and favor bags, and I knew I wanted to have some kind of bowl to hold the tickets. In my last post, I talked about using a wine glass as a bachelorette centerpiece, and I continued this theme for the raffle tickets. This time, I used a Circles In Motion Too Stemless Wine Glass from Designs by Lolita, which was the perfect size for the raffle tickets.

Bachelorette raffle tickets

This handpainted glass is just darling, and the colors went with the party decor perfectly. I had showed the Designs by Lolita website to the bride-to-be when I was deciding which items to pick out for the party, and she had mentioned that she thought this one was really cute. After the party was over, I left the glass with her as her party gift – as I said in my last post, I think that using decor items that double as a gift is a really fun idea for bachelorette parties!

Bachelorette Prizes

Prizes For Bachelorette Party Games

I wanted to have some fun items for raffle prizes, so I chose things that I thought would be fun to pass out at an all-girl party. I gave away a sparkly purse, a chocolate-scented candle, earrings, and a photo frame that says “Friends”. What better keepsake for this kind of party than a frame that you can use to hold a photo of the fun times with friends during the bachelorette party?

Bachelorette Prizes

I wrapped all the prizes in pink tissue paper and labeled them: “Raffle Prize #1”, “Raffle Prize #2”, and so on. As each winner was drawn, I invited her to pick any raffle prize from the table. Which brings us to…

Drawing Winners

Playing a bachelorette party game

When it was time to hold the raffle, I passed the wine glass around and asked each guest to pick a ticket. I used the Fast Random Number Generator app for iPhone to pull numbers, but you could just as easily pull numbers out of a hat; just make note of how many tickets you have and pull numbers accordingly. Call out the numbers to the guests, and all they have to do is look at their tickets and see if they’re a winner. Doesn’t get much easier for a party game than that! The guests also loved the personalized tickets and mentioned they were keeping them as a memento, which was part of why I wanted to print tickets with the party date and photo – as a keepsake from this special time.

The raffle seemed to bit a hit – it didn’t take long, the guests won some fun prizes, and everyone thought the tickets were really cute. If you want a low-pressure, easy game for your next bachelorette, I think this is a good way to go!

Using a Wine Glass as a Bachelorette Centerpiece

Using a Wine Glass as a Bachelorette Centerpiece

Wine glass from Designs By Lolita provided for review.

I’m a big fan of using functional items as decorations. When I threw my first bachelorette party last year, I used a pretty scarf as a table accent, and then gave it to the bride as a gift after the party. I wanted to do something similar for this bachelorette party, so when I had the chance to pick out some things from Designs by Lolita, I knew this would fit in perfectly with the theme since one of the activities was a wine tasting!

Designs by Lolita glass
I was first introduced to Designs by Lolita last year, when I reviewed one of their bridal wine glasses. Each piece is beautifully handpainted with a recipe included at the bottom of each wine glass, making them a true accent piece. One of the glasses I received for this party was the Heart of Gold Superbling Wine Glass, a lovely goblet bedecked in sparkles and painted with hearts – perfect for a gathering celebrating a bride! The large decorative case which houses the glass is also beautifully styled, making it a great conversation piece.

Wine glass centerpiece
Because this glass and its case are so ornate, it made for an effortless centerpiece. Once I set up my wine tasting area, I placed the glass and its case next to the bottles and wine list. Talk about easy! It really added a glam touch to the table and fit perfectly with the decor.

The next morning when I was taking down the decorations, I sealed the wine glass back in its case and gave it to Jaime along with another Lolita glass which I used in one of the party games (More on that later!). She had thought they were just decor props and hadn’t been expecting to keep them, so she told me, “I feel so spoiled, thank you!” She loved the wine glasses and asked me if she should send a thank-you card to my clients for the samples they provided for this party. Isn’t that sweet?

Skinny Raspberry Cosmo Recipe

Skinny Raspberry Cosmo Recipe

Thanks to Sobieski for providing vodka samples & Skinny Raspberry Cosmo recipe inspiration!

For Jaime’s bachelorette party, I created a cocktail menu and served a full bar of pink drinks, which were color-coordinated to match the party decor. It was a huge hit! As each guest arrived, I told them to look at the menu and let me know what drink they’d like. I have to say that this Skinny Raspberry Cosmo was probably the most popular cocktail of the night.

Ingredients

2 oz Sobieski Raspberry Vodka

1 oz cranberry juice

1 oz stevia

1 lime

5 raspberries

Instructions

Adapted from a recipe provided by Sobieski Vodka

Chop ends off lime and discard. Cut a lime slice and reserve for garnish. Chop remaining lime into quarters and remove seeds.

Add lime quarters, raspberries, vodka, juice, and stevia to a cocktail shaker. Shake up the mixture and pour over ice; garnish with slice of lime.

Cosmopolitan drink
The “Skinny” part of this drink comes from the stevia, which is a zero-calorie sweetener. The Sobieski Raspberry Vodka which I used is sweet enough to use on its own, so depending on your taste, you may wish to omit the sweetener altogether. Some of the guests found it to be a little too sweet with the stevia and thought it was better with just the natural sweetness from the other ingredients.

Classy Bachelorette Party For Jaime: Recap!

Classy Bachelorette Party Recap!

Thanks to our party sponsors for providing complimentary items for Jaime’s classy bachelorette party!

On Friday night, I threw my second-ever bachelorette party, this time for my soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Jaime. As I mentioned previously, I wanted to put together this blog series about throwing a classy bachelorette party to help out other hostesses who’d like to throw a fun party without embarrassing party games or a trip to Chippendale’s. Over the next two weeks, I will be sharing how-tos for each aspect of the party, but I wanted to give you a quick recap of the party and how it went over!

Jaime’s Classy Bachelorette Party: A Recap

Bachelorette Party Decorations

I decorated this area with a fun kit from The House of Bachelorette, which added a festive touch and also served as a backdrop for my homemade photo booth.

Fun Bachelorette Party Games & Favors!

I set up a table with fun party favors & games. The bags included favors I made from Good Earth Tea bags; the games included a scavenger hunt & raffle with prizes from great places like Just Jen. We also had decorations from Designs by Lolita, and a fun “Bride-to-Be” sash by RhinestoneSash.com.

Bachelorette Party Drinks And Food

We had a great assortment of refreshments at the bachelorette buffet! We enjoyed fun cocktails provided by Sobieski Vodka and Partida Tequila, along with a tasting of Banfi wines. We also had non-alcoholic options, including a fun “Tea Bar” from Good Earth Tea. For food, I picked up finger foods like veggie platters and fruit, hummus, and dishes specifically paired with the wine, such as my Aceitunas a la Sevillana, cheese, homemade bread, and Merci Chocolate. I also picked up a few pizzas for the main course.

Jaime's Classy Bachelorette Party!

We had SO much fun! Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Not to brag or anything, but people kept asking me if I was a professional party planner. 😉 I wasn’t expecting that kind of response so I was thrilled that everything turned out so well and that it could be a fun night for the bride and our friends.

Bachelorette Fun

Party Guests!

The party games and favor bags were a hit, too. If you’ve ever tried to organize games at a party like this, you’ll know that they can often go over like a lead balloon, so I purposely tried to keep them short and low-maintenance. I think the key is to have an activity that entertains without being too overbearing or interrupting the flow of the party.

Stella, The Party Pooch

Stella the party pooch gave this night two paws up!

Stay tuned for in-depth tutorials on all of the fun crafts, games, and cocktails that were served! I hope I can inspire anyone else who wants to throw a classy bachelorette party but isn’t sure where to start.

4 Tips For Selecting Bachelorette Wine: Beginners’ Guide

4 Tips For Selecting Bachelorette Wine: Beginners' Guide

Wines & tips provided by Banfi.

My soon-to-be-sister-in-law’s bachelorette party is next week, so I’m putting together all of the activities that we’ll be doing – one of which is a wine tasting. This is the first time I’ve ever held a tasting, so if you’re like me and have never picked out a selection of wines for a crowd before and need some guidance, here are some of the tips I’ve picked up:

  • 1. Sit Down With The Bride. Make a list of her favorite wines and general taste preferences. Does she like her wine dry or sweet? What type of food would she like to pair with the wines?
  • 2. Decide How Much Wine You Will Need. According to Banfi, 1 bottle of wine will provide roughly 5 large glasses of wine; you’ll want to allow for a minimum of 3 glasses per person per 2-3 hour period. Once you have your guest list, you can crunch the numbers based on these estimations for an idea of how much wine to buy. My own rule of thumb is that it’s better to have extra than not enough, so I usually get a bit more food and drink that I anticipate needing.
  • 3. Consider The Weather & Setting. If it’s an outdoor summertime shindig, a variety of light white wines might be best; if the tasting preceeds an indoor dinner party, perhaps a nice selection of reds would be a good choice. The mood of the party can help you determine which wines would be most suitable.
  • 4. Think About Food. Decide which foods will best compliment your wine selection. For example, at my wine tasting, I’m pairing choices like Centine Bianco with Aceitunas a la Sevillana and Rosa Regale Brachetto d’Acqui with chocolates.

What are your tips for hosting a successful bachelorette wine tasting?
